From a Porch Swing to a Purpose

Hi, we’re the Todd family — Norm, Rachel, Lennon & Tuck — and we’re the hearts behind Dainty Leaf.

A while back, we purchased a charming Charleston single-style home and dreamed of hanging a porch swing on the second-floor balcony. However, when we looked online, we were shocked by how expensive porch swings had become. So, instead of buying one, we decided to build it ourselves — no plans, just creativity, vision, and determination. The outcome? A stunning, custom swing that caught the eye of several neighbors.

What began as a personal DIY project quickly turned into something more. As requests from our community grew, we realized there was a genuine need for quality craftsmanship at a fair price — and not just for porch swings. With a love for carpentry and a bold leap away from corporate America, I (Norm) embraced the opportunity to do something truly meaningful. We expanded into porch rebuilds, decks, and fences, and Dainty Leaf was born.
