Craftsmanship & Details
The Painted ION is built with our slimmest wood profile — 1⅝" × 1⅝" premium pine for the arms and horizontal back slats. This refined profile gives the swing its light, architectural appearance while fitting comfortably into both compact and larger porch spaces. The frame is constructed from 1½" × 4½" Douglas Fir or premium pine, providing exceptional strength beneath the swing's minimalist exterior.
Every Painted ION is built using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, reinforced at each corner with 6-inch structural lag screws. Charleston's humid coastal climate causes wood to naturally expand and contract throughout the seasons — this combination of classic craftsmanship and modern engineering ensures the swing remains solid, square, and wobble-free for years of everyday use.
The 1⅝" × 1⅝" profile runs consistently through the arms, back slats, and posts, creating a cohesive, streamlined look with a 26" back height. Depth is fully customizable to fit your porch, with most swings built between 32" and 38". We finish every Painted ION with Sherwin-Williams® FORTE® Exterior Acrylic Urethane — engineered to resist fading, peeling, cracking, and blistering in the Lowcountry's intense sun and humidity. Black or white is included; any custom Sherwin-Williams color is available for an additional $100.

Online pricing reflects swings up to Twin size (75"×38") or smaller. If you choose a Twin XL (80"×38") or a larger custom size, additional fees will apply depending on the final dimensions.
We use Sherwin-Williams Forte™ paint — a premium, urethanized acrylic coating designed for exterior use. Black or white paint is included. Any additional color is (+$100).
Four 1-inch Pro-Manila ropes, whipped at both ends to prevent fraying. (+$200)

What is the difference between the Painted ION and the Exotic ION?
Both share the same slim 1⅝" × 1⅝" profile and minimalist design, but the material is completely different. The Painted ION is crafted from premium pine and finished with Sherwin-Williams® FORTE® paint in any color you choose. The Exotic ION is built entirely from Sapele — a rich African hardwood — and finished with marine-grade spar varnish to showcase the wood's natural beauty. Same silhouette, very different character.
What size should I choose?
The Twin (75"×38") is our most popular size for two adults. If you have a smaller porch or want a swing for one, the Small Single (75"×30") is a great fit. We'll measure your space at the consultation and give you a clear recommendation.
How long does it take to receive my swing?
Most swings are delivered within 3 weeks of placing your order. We'll confirm the exact timeline at your consultation.
Do you deliver and install in the Charleston area?
Yes. We serve Mount Pleasant, Charleston, Daniel Island, James Island, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, and the surrounding Lowcountry. Installation is available as an add-on for $350 and includes full hanging and leveling at your home.
