Craftsmanship & Details

Every Dainty Leaf porch swing is handcrafted using carefully selected materials chosen for both beauty and long-term durability. We use 1⅝" × 1⅝" premium primed kiln-dried pressure treated pine for the signature double-X back and arm braces. The arm supports are crafted from 2×4" premium primed kiln-dried pressure treated lumber and are paired with a 3½-inch solid oak armrest, providing a beautiful natural contrast while creating the perfect place to rest a cup of coffee, a glass of sweet tea, or your favorite book.

Our signature 4×4 posts (actual size 3½" × 3½") are specially ordered from a local sawmill and surfaced on all four sides to create a smooth, furniture-quality finish. The frame is constructed from 1½" × 4½" premium primed kiln-dried pressure treated lumber, providing exceptional strength and stability for years of dependable use. To maximize durability, we install solid oak armrests and cedar post caps, both selected for their natural resistance to moisture, decay, and insects — cedar performs exceptionally well in the heat, humidity, and coastal conditions of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

We build every porch swing using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, reinforced at every corner with 6-inch construction lag screws. Charleston's humidity puts real stress on wood joints over time — even a well-cut mortise and tenon can work loose as the wood expands and contracts through our seasons. The lag screws are our answer to that: they lock each joint firmly in place, so your swing stays solid and tight for years to come, not just when it's new.

The substantial 3½" × 3½" custom-milled posts, topped with handcrafted cedar caps, give the Park Circle Swing its bold architectural presence. The front posts measure 18 inches tall while the rear posts extend to 26 inches, creating the swing's signature profile and adding visual depth that complements both traditional and contemporary homes. Black or white is included at no additional cost; any custom Sherwin-Williams color is available for an additional $100 with the remaining paint provided for touch-ups. Every painted swing is finished with Sherwin-Williams® FORTE® Exterior Acrylic Urethane, which resists fading, peeling, cracking, and blistering under the intense Lowcountry sun and humidity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Park Circle different from your other swings?

The Park Circle shares the double-X back brace design with the Old Village but uses 2×4" arm supports versus the Old Village's 1" × 5½" — giving it a subtly bolder, more contemporary feel that works well on a restored bungalow, a modern farmhouse, or a newly built coastal home.

What is the double-X back design?

The double-X is a signature design element that uses crossed 1⅝" × 1⅝" wood braces to form an X pattern across the back of the swing — a visually striking look that's distinctly different from the horizontal slat backs of our Charleston, Hibben, and ION models.

What size should I choose?

The Twin (75"×38") is our most popular size for two adults. If you have a smaller porch, a crib size or small single may be a better fit. We'll customize the swing size based on your joist layout and porch dimensions.

How long does it take to receive my swing?

Most swings are delivered within 3 weeks of placing your order. We'll confirm the exact timeline at your consultation.

Do you deliver and install in the Charleston area?

Yes. We serve Mount Pleasant, Charleston, Daniel Island, James Island, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, and the surrounding Lowcountry. Installation is available as an add-on for $350 and includes full hanging and leveling at your home.

What if I'm not happy with it?

Every Dainty Leaf swing comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. We stand behind our craftsmanship and we want you to love what we build for you.
